Our Story

A bread with deep roots

Lavash is the everyday bread of the Armenian table and one of the oldest breads still baked today. In 2014 it was inscribed on the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity - recognition of a craft passed from hand to hand, mother to daughter, for centuries. We started Melbourne Lavash to bring that craft, made properly, to our city.

Made simply, made fresh

Our lavash is just three ingredients - Australian wheat flour, water and salt, and a lot of care. The dough is mixed, rested, stretched thin, and baked in a hot oven until it blisters. There are no preservatives and nothing to hide behind, which is exactly how it should be.

Why we bake in batches

Rather than bake to a shelf, we bake to order. We open pre-orders for a scheduled bake day, take reservations until the cutoff, then bake everything fresh on the day. It means a little planning for you, and the freshest possible bread from us.

Our Family

Our family came to Australia from Yerevan in late 2013, carrying with us the flavours we grew up with and the kind of bread that was always part of the table.

Lavash was never just bread for us. It was wrapped around fresh herbs and cheese, served with barbecue, packed for family outings, dried for khash, and shared at every gathering.

When we moved to Melbourne, we missed the taste and texture of real Armenian lavash, the kind made with care, patience, and the right technique. So we brought the craft with us.

Today, we bake for families like ours: people who want fresh lavash on the table, a connection to culture, and something honest to share with the people they love.
